Try to anticipate your future needs and quantify your current ones.

Please provide a brief statement that outlines a summary of the key objectives of the renovation including a list of goals, a list of must-have features, rooms that you wish to create or keep or remove. What leisure activities are important to you that we should consider in our design and where would foresee them occurring (art, reading, music, gaming, etc.) ?

Equipment

Do you own any equipment that needs to be incorporated or planned for in any way?

Work

What work activities happen at home that we should consider?

Things

Are there any art pieces, sculptures, pianos, etc. that we should consider and if so do they have any special requirements we should consider?

Style

Our firm crafts architecture that responds to you. What specific styles, if any, do you love or wish to have in your home? Are historic details critical or do you prefer we craft something as we see works best that reinterprets or reimagines the vernacular of the building. Do you prefer a minimalist aesthetic? If you aren’t sure what style works best for you or you are having trouble writing out the style, send us images of homes or objects that you love and highlight what you like about them. Pinterest is a good tools for this.

Furniture

Will you use existing furniture or will you want us to chose furniture for you? Is their a special piece of furniture we should consider (large dining room table, sectional sofa, board game area, standing computer desk, etc.)

Special Features

Which special features would you like us to consider? A fireplace, home theater, large glass openings, etc. )

Carpets

Do you have a preference for wall to wall carpets or area rugs? Highly patterned or minimal?

Materials

We prefer natural materials to synthetic ones, if you feel strongly about synthetic materials let us know.

Wood Floors

If your project will have wood floors, do you prefer the flooring to be new or will you prefer to refinish the existing? Do you like rustic wood with knots, or clear with no knots? Do you like chevron or herringbone patterns or straight runs? Do you love wide plank wood or smaller planks of wood?

Who will live here?

Is this a single or multi family home? For you, your family or a renter?

Staying, Investment, Flipping?

How long do you plan on living here? Do you plan on selling or renting it out? Is this an investment property?

Primary Focus

What primary needs are central to bringing you to renovate or build a new home, and what would you consider to be the highest priority in the renovation?

Health and Wellness

Are there any health or wellness issues that concern you, such as air quality, mold, or are there other special needs or future special needs we should consider?

Cooking

Love cooking or eating out? How often will you be cooking and do you have any special considerations we should be aware of?

Bar (Coffee, Tea, Wine, Liquor)

Do you have, or want to have, an espresso machine or dedicated hot water line). Do you want a wine fridge, and how many bottles will you want to store? Do you want a bar cart or an area that is specific to mixing drinks?

Entertain

Do you entertain often or not at all, and are your occasions small or larger?

Outside Sound

We're in NY, how much does outside sound bother you? Enough to consider getting sound reducing doors or windows?

Inside Sound

Do you want to reduce the sound that travels between floors and rooms? Which rooms should be quieter than others if any?

Color

Do you have any colors that you love? Do you prefer muted, neutral, earthy, or bright and colorful?

Visitors

Do you have any visitors that will stay long periods of time?

Elderly

Do you anticipate an elderly family member living with you in the future?
